I don’t know about everyone else, but I suffer from weak hips. I work 40 hours a week sitting at a desk staring at a computer and my hips pay the price. After both of my half marathons it’s always been my hips that ache and hurt for a few days.

I’ve been working with a coach on speedwork and these are the exercises he has us doing, not only to strengthen our hips and core, but to also get faster, and who doesn’t want to shave a few minutes of their times? 🙂

His advice to us: do these 2-3 times a week when you go out for a run. They don’t take long to do (about 5 minutes total) and if you keep up with it, you will see a difference.
