I have not run since my sixtieth birthday celebration 5K in early November. Today was the day I began to re-train for a 5k in May. My plan to was run week 4 of the Couch to 5K plan. I have kept active and in shape, but if this initial run proved too difficult, I would have been perfectly willing to begin from scratch if I needed to. I am thrilled that my attempt was successful. It was hard (especially because I forgot my water bottle), it was not pretty, but I ran the 1.5 miles with two walking intervals with no undue difficulty. Next week I hope to reach the 2 mile run with no walking and go from there. Putting on my running shoes after all these months made me feel like a little kid on Christmas morning.Connie Ross
